On 28 July 2025, the Citadelle of Quebec hosted the signing of the 2025–2027 cooperation protocol between the Citadelles of Namur and Quebec, in the presence of Ms Anne Barzin, First Alderwoman of the City of Namur; Mr Bruno Marchand, Mayor of Quebec City; Mr Pierre-Luc Berthiaume, General Manager of the Citadelle of Quebec; Major Nick Paquet of the Royal 22e Régiment; and Mr Yann Gall, Wallonia-Brussels General Delegate in Quebec.

This collaboration will focus on five priority areas:

  • Cultural activities and mediation

  • Guide training

  • Heritage management

  • Climate resilience

  • Duty of remembrance

This initiative continues the longstanding cooperation between Namur and Quebec, two fortified cities united by a shared history and common values.

It aims to promote the exchange of expertise, networking among heritage stakeholders, and the joint promotion of their Citadelles as vibrant spaces for culture, memory, and innovation.
