The City of Namur, in partnership with the Congolese NGO Pasco (Parlons Sida aux Communautaires) and with the support of Wallonia-Brussels International, carried out a cooperation project for 2024–2025 aimed at strengthening HIV prevention efforts, combating stigma and discrimination, and raising awareness of post-COVID-19 resilience measures in the commune of Masina.

Since 2024, the project has enabled:

  • the implementation of awareness-raising activities in schools and among young people, including theatrical interventions and training on access to social and legal services, as well as on combating misinformation and stigma;

  • the strengthening of local actors’ capacities and the training of educational and medical staff;

  • the distribution of medical supplies, including rapid tests and prevention kits, as well as counselling and voluntary testing services, including mobile units;

  • the organisation of World AIDS Day in Masina.

This initiative is part of the cooperation programme linking Namur and Masina since 2008, reflecting the City’s commitment to concrete international partnerships combining health and development.
