2025 | Cultural cooperation between Namur and Quebec during the Namur in May Festival

As part of the 2024-2026 cooperation agreement between the City of Namur and the City of Quebec, a Quebec delegation was welcomed to Namur from 27 to 31 May on the occasion of the 2025 edition of the Namur in May festival.

The delegation included Ms Fanny Côté, Event Planning Adviser for the City of Quebec, Mr Alexis Girard-Aubertin, Arts and Culture Adviser for the Department of Culture and Heritage of the City of Quebec, and Mr Marc Gourdeau, Art Adviser to the Réverbère Festival.

Ms Charlotte Bazelaire, Acting Mayor of the City of Namur, welcomed the Quebec delegation in the presence of Mr Samuel Chappel, Director of the Namur in May festival. The programme provided an opportunity to explore the cultural policies of Namur through discussions with the Department of Culture. Meetings with the Namur Capital Police and the Events Department within the Culture and Leisure Services Department also made it possible to address issues related to organising public events, as well as the safety and logistics of big festive gatherings.
