2025 | Visit of European experts to Namur for sustainable tourism

On 15 May 2025, around forty European experts were welcomed to Namur to learn about the city’s initiatives in sustainable tourism, as part of the European Commission’s consideration of a European strategy in this area.

The visit highlighted projects such as Namur 2030, the NID (Smart and Sustainable Namur), the KIKK Festival, the cable car, the Terra Nova centre, the Pavillon, and the pedestrianisation of the city centre, illustrating the transformation of Namur into an attractive, innovative, and sustainable destination.

This demonstrates the city’s commitment to combining culture, innovation, and sustainability, by engaging the local population and showcasing its tourist resources, and forms part of its candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030.
