
2026 | The City of Hué visits the NID as part of the development of its “Smart and Sustainable Hué” project

As part of the 107th Bureau meeting of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF), the City of Hué (Vietnam), also a member of the Bureau, visited Namur for a tour of Namur Intelligente et Durable (NID – Smart and Sustainable Namur).
This visit took place within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Cities of Namur and Hué, which focuses in particular on the digital transition and cooperation on urban innovation projects, including the development of the “Smart and Sustainable Hué” centre.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by the People’s Committee of the City of Hué, was composed of:
- Mr Khac Toan NGUYEN, Chairman of the People’s Committee of the City of Hué;
- Mr Ngoc Dang DANG, Director of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Hué City Party Committee;
- Mr Viet Cuong HOANG, Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the People’s Committee;
- Mr Minh Duc TRUONG, Head of Internal Affairs, Foreign Services Centre;
- Mr Le Nhat VO, Director of the Department of Construction.
The aim of the visit was to draw on Namur’s experience in the field of smart and sustainable cities as part of the project to establish the future “Smart and Sustainable Hué” (HID) centre. The representatives from Hué had the opportunity to learn about how the NID operates, its missions and the initiatives developed in Namur in the fields of digital transition, sustainability and urban innovation.
Beyond the institutional presentation, an exchange of practices provided an opportunity to discuss the practical aspects of implementing such a centre, as well as the planning and design considerations associated with this type of infrastructure.
This meeting reflects the dynamic cooperation between Namur and Hué, based on the sharing of expertise and support for partner cities in their digital and sustainable transformation projects.
