2026 | Namur hosts the 20th edition of Grimpday

The 20th edition of Grimpday took place in Namur from 10 to 13 June 2026, bringing together 25 teams of elite rescue professionals from 20 countries. Over the course of the event, participants took on 13 technical exercises and operational scenarios organised at various iconic locations across the Namur region, including the Citadel of Namur.

Founded in Namur twenty years ago, Grimpday has become an international benchmark in the field of rescue operations in hazardous environments and rope rescue. This anniversary edition confirmed its global reach and the quality of exchanges between rescue professionals, with a growing number of women taking part.

The opening ceremony brought together institutional representatives and international delegations. In her address, Charlotte Bazelaire, Acting Mayor of the City of Namur, praised the commitment of the teams and the spirit of international cooperation that has characterised Grimpday since its creation.

Beyond the competition, the event promotes the sharing of good practices, operational innovation and solidarity between rescue services. It confirms Namur’s position as an international reference in this demanding field.
