2025 | Mission of the City of Namur in Namur (Quebec)

Strengthening ties between the two Namurs.
On 25 and 26 July 2025, a delegation from the City of Namur visited the Papineau RCM, where the municipality of Namur (Quebec) is located.
Ms Anne Barzin, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Namur, responsible for International Relations, met with Mr Paul-André David, Prefect of the MRC, and Mr Gilbert Dardel, Mayor of Namur (Quebec), in the presence of Mr Yann Gall, Wallonia-Brussels General Delegate in Quebec.
During this mission, the Central Committee of Wallonia (CCW) presented Mr Dardel with the blue shirt worn by the members of the Committee, in recognition of the special ties between the Fêtes de Wallonie and the Fêtes Namuroises, as well as his commitment to promoting Namur culture.
The delegation also met with several local businesses to explore synergies around the reciprocal exchange of local products.
The cultural and heritage dimension was highlighted thanks to the Échasseurs and Alfers, who participated in the Saint-André-Avellin Western Festival, helping to showcase Namur’s heritage while encouraging exchanges with citizens and participants.
