2025 | Mission of the City of Namur to Terrebonne (Quebec)
Terrebonne and Namur continue their collaboration: a visit focused on transition and development.
Following the City of Terrebonne’s mission to Namur in April 2025, which focused on economic, social, educational and cultural issues, a delegation from the City of Namur visited Terrebonne from 23 to 25 July 2025, as part of the 2024-2026 cooperation agreement linking the two cities.
Led by Ms Anne Barzin, First Deputy Mayor in charge of International Relations, the delegation met with Mr Matthieu Traversy, Mayor of Terrebonne, to discuss the implementation of the agreement and explore future cooperation areas of ecological transition, social and economic development, and academic exchanges.

Institutional exchanges and cultural outreach:
The programme also included a visit to the Enviro Connexions complex, a company specialising in integrated waste management, as well as a visit to the Terrebonne Police Headquarters, attended by two Commissioners from the Namur Capitale Police Zone. These exchanges provided an opportunity to share best practices in public safety and citizen services.

Ms Barzin also held discussions with local authorities on housing and land management. Finally, the mission highlighted Namur’s intangible heritage through performances by the Échasseurs and Alfers, who enlivened the streets of Vieux-Terrebonne and also visited senior citizens in a spirit of intergenerational exchange, solidarity and cultural outreach.
