2025 | Strengthening the Namur-Masina partnership: working mission in Namur

Mission-Namur---EN-AVANT

From 26 January to 2 February 2025, the City of Namur welcomed Mr Évariste Kasongo Mutelezi, IT specialist and Southern Coordinator of the Namur-Masina partnership, as part of a working mission aimed at strengthening the administrative and digital capacities of the municipality of Masina (DRC).

This mission is part of the municipal international cooperation (CIC) programme led by the City of Namur, in collaboration with the Union of Cities and Municipalities of Wallonia (UVCW).

Exchanges focused on civil registration and population services

Throughout the week, Mr Kasongo took part in several exchange and training sessions, including:

  • a CIC Namur-Masina working meeting with the teams of the City of Namur and UVCW;
  • an immersive day within the Civil Registration and Population services of the City of Namur, with a discovery of administrative procedures, the applications used, and the organisation of the services;
  • a visit to the paper registers and municipal archives,accompanied by discussions on records preservation and document management;
  • a meeting with the Deputy Director-General of the City of Namur, coordinator of the partnership;
  • advisory sessions on optimizing IT tools to improve daily management and communication of the partnership.

Local infrastructure and preparation for 2025 actions

The mission made it possible to follow up on ongoing infrastructure projects in Masina, including the renovation and redevelopment of several district offices and spaces dedicated to civil registration and population services. Reflections were also conducted on service accessibility, office signage, and conditions under which citizens are received.
