2026 | Julie Thériault in an artistic residency in Namur as part of Chambres avec Vues
From 14 to 28 March, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Détour hosted the Québécois artist Julie Thériault as part of the Chambres avec Vues artist programme. Her presence in Namur formed part of a partnership with the CAV&MA (Centre d’Art Vocal & de Musique Ancienne), with the Office for International Relations facilitating the connection with the Centre d’Art Contemporain Détour.
A composer and painter, Julie Thériault presented Mirage musical, a sensitive universe where colours and sounds interact and respond to one another, offering the public an immersive experience at the crossroads of visual arts and music.
A highlight of the exhibition took place on 15 March at 4 p.m., when the artist performed on the piano amid her paintings, blending excerpts from her albums with works by composers who have influenced her journey. Two further moments of exchange, organised within the framework of the cultural and artistic education programme, were met with great success (as illustrated here in the images).
This visit to Namur exemplifies the cultural exchanges between the City of Namur and Québec. On this occasion, the Office for International Relations also accompanied Julie Thériault in discovering Namur’s heritage, notably the Citadel.
