Description
Hué is the former imperial capital of Vietnam (1802-1945). It is now the capital of Thừa Thiên province and relies mainly on fishing and tourism.
Hué and Namur forged their first relations within the framework of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF). Both cities have a significant tourist heritage, each featuring a citadel. Exchanges of expertise between the municipal administrations of the two towns are central to this agreement, including field visits on the management of green spaces and waste, and internships for civil servants working in international relations. The first agreement dates back to 2010.
Hué is a member of the AIMF.
The cities of Namur and Hué have renewed their commitment by signing a cooperation protocol for the period 2024-2029.
