The City of Namur participated in the work of the AIMF Commission “Innovative, smart and responsible cities”, held in Nantes from 16 to 18 September 2025. The city was represented by Mr Jeffrey Geenen-Ridolfi, Data Protection Officer of the City of Namur.

This participation forms part of the continuity of the work initiated since 2023 on territorial data governance and focused, in 2025, on issues related to the rise of artificial intelligence, the responsible use of digital technologies and the impact of these technologies on mental health, democracy and social cohesion.

The work of the Commission made it possible to define common orientations for 2026, including the production of commons, the sharing of best practices and the contribution to a territorial AI repository within the AIMF network.

The participation of Namur helped enrich the collective reflection, for instance through the sharing of local experiences such as the digital disconnection charter implemented for municipal staff, and strengthened the city’s position within international initiatives on responsible digital technology.
